"Home of the 2017 Cooperstown Champions!"

Welcome to the LA Xtreme Baseball Academy! LA Xtreme gives players and families who are serious and committed to the game of baseball an opportunity to advance their skills to the next level. Over the past 15 years, Youth Travel Ball has become a necessity for serious ballplayers who want to play at the High School, College and above. The Westside of LA has been a slow adaptor compared to Travel Ball in the Inland Empire, Orange County, San Gabriel & San Fernando Valleys, which allowed players in those areas to develop their game at a much higher level. In 2012, Xtreme started to not only provide players and teams that could compete with those other areas, but now Xtreme develops players and teams that can compete against the top teams in the Country. Xtreme is the only travel ball organization on the Westside that produces teams and players that can compete at the highest levels for all its age groups from 7/8U to 15U. ~ Tryouts Postponed to Next Sat. Jan 19 - Xtreme Winter & Spring Teams
Tryouts have been Postponed to Next Saturday Jan. 19, 9am - 12pm, Westchester Park for LA Xtreme 2019 Winter & Spring Teams. 15 Teams 7/8U to 14U teams.

~ LIVE STREAM Thurs 8/9 Playoffs From Cooperstown for 6-0 12U-Select & 12U-Elite

Prior to this year, only 2 Xtreme teams had ever gone undefeated in Pool Play. This week however, that number doubled as both the 12U-Select and 12U-Elite went a perfect 6-0 in Pool Play with both teams receiving a first round bye. In addition, the 12U-Elite has a Cooperstown leading 29 Home Runs in pool play games. 12U-Select is 3rd with 20 Home Runs amongst the 60 plus teams. Both teams received a first round bye in Playoffs and will play their first game on Thursday. Watch the games live on the link below.

~ 3 Xtreme Teams Participate in USSSA DeMarini Florida Elite World Series

To make the USSSA DeMarini Florida Elite World Series in in itself an extremely tough challenge. To qualify you must show at a USSSA Super NIT event and when you play against the top 30 teams in California, just getting into the Gold Playoff Bracket is a challenge. Last year the 12U-Elite became the first team in Xtreme History to win a Super NIT and a bid to play in Florida. Prior to the 12U-Elite team, no team in Xtreme history had ever come close to winning a Super NIT event.

This year, 3 Xtreme teams won a bid to play in the USSSA Elite World Series in Florida (11U-Elite, 12U-Elite and the 13U-Elite). The 13U-Elite lost 3 games by a total of 4 runs and didn't qualify in the top 8 for Playoffs. The 12U-Elite did well winning a couple of tough games in Playoffs and finished in 9th place after being eliminated 8-3 by the eventual National Championship team out of Texas. Meanwhile, the 11U-Elite finished in 5th place after a tough extra inning loss to the Midwest Elite Bombers 6-5, who had players from 3 different states, including 2 players from California. The 5th place finish is the highest finish for an Xtreme team at the Florida DeMarini Elite World Series.

For Xtreme, it's team's being able to compete in Super NIT events is in itself an amazing accomplishment but now to have Xtreme teams being able to compete and succeed at the USSSA DeMarini Florida Elite World Series the way they are is absolutely astonishing. Very few teams and players ever get the chance to compete at the highest possible level and just a few years ago, Xtreme never imagined having teams and players that could compete at that level. But the development of the teams and players and Xtreme's ability to attract the top talent that want to compete at the highest levels possible has allowed Xtreme teams to not only get the opportunity to play against the best of the best, but to now succeed against the best in the country. Xtreme teams have won basically every big tournament possible from Cooperstown, to Omaha, Vegas, Super NIT's, Arizona, etc, so it is now only a matter of time before the first Xtreme team wins the most competitive tournament of them all and the Florida Elite World Series.

~ Joseph Rhodes & Dylan Beckerman recognized at Team USA Arizona JO's

LA Xtreme has been fortunate to have tremendous success competing in travel ball in ages 8U-14U. Xtreme teams are now winning upwards of an incredible 70 tournament championships and finalists trophies every season. This year however, marked the first year that Xtreme entered High School Showcases, where players in High School showcase their talent to College Coaches and MLB Scouts. Xtreme's first Showcase Team played in the Arizona JO's 15U Team USA Championships where the team went 2-2 in Pool Play.

Two players were received recognition with Joseph Rhodes receiving Honorable Player of the Day by getting on base all 4 times with 2 Triples, 3 RBI's, while also pitching 3 innings and making a spectacular diving catch in Left Field. Another Xtreme player, 14U Dylan Beckerman entering St. John's Bosco, received strong recognition from the scouts with 6 IP's, 1 Run, 5 K's, 1 Walk and was touted with possible MLB 1st Round Draft Pick potential by the  Scouting Baseball USA bureau- Click to View Scout Article.

~ Xtreme Players Continue to be Recognized Nationally

Congratulations to Hamilton Friedberg (10U), James Dell'Amico (11U) & Adam Magpoc (12U) who recently received an invitation to participate in the Team USA National Invitational. In addition to the 6 Team USA Invites, 10U-Elite Malakye Matsumoto was recently selected to the USSSA All-American Team in Florida. Malakye becomes the 10th Xtreme Player to receive this exclusive invitation. It was a big few months for Malakye who also competed in the MLB Pitch, Hit & Run contest who took 1st Place in the State of California and had advanced to the Finals, which will be held at the MLB All-Star Game in DC. Congratulations to all the Xtreme players on their National Recognition.

~ Xtreme 11U-Elite Wins Omaha 11U Invite Only Slumpbuster Championship!

~ 6 Xtreme Teams Play in Mother's Day Tournaments & 5 Make the Championship!!!

When teams play in Tournaments, it is extremely difficult to make it to the Championship. You have to defeat a lot of solid travel ball teams, get some lucky bounces and really play mistake free baseball to have any chance. Upwards of 8 to 16 high level travel ball teams play in a typical Tournament and every teams goal is to make the Championship Game and Win the Tournament. Over Mother's Day Weekend, 6 Xtreme teams played in a Tournament. Typically 1 or 2 out of 6 teams would be able to make that Championship Game. But on this weekend, 5 of the Xtreme teams made it to the Championship!!! Congratulations to the 8U-Elite, 11U-Elite (Blue), 12U-Select, 13U-Blue and the 14U High School Development Team on their Tournament success.

Congratulations to the Xtreme 12U-Elite who became the first Xtreme team to win the Cooperstown Championship. The 12U-Elite team went a perfect 6-0 in Pool Play only giving up 8 runs in their 6 games to earn the #1 seed. In Playoffs the Xtreme team won it's first two playoff games to advance to the Semi-Finals against the undefeated Petaluma, California Team. Xtreme was down 7-6 with two outs, two strikes and nobody on, when David Chase laced a single into Right-Center. Evan Smith then belted a pitch that hit the very top of the left-field wall, nearly missing a two-run walk off home run. With the tying run on 3rd and the go ahead run on 2nd base, Ryan Times ripped a shot at the Shortstop. The Petaluma SS did a nice job to knock it down and quickly picked it up and threw to 1st, where he threw low and skipping by the first-baseman allowing the tying and winning run to score and advancing Xtreme into the Championship Game. In the Championship Game, the Xtreme team put on a show, hitting 8 home runs and defeating the Huntington Beach Riptide, 20-5 to win the 2017 Week 10 Cooperstown Championship and the first Cooperstown Title in Xtreme's 4-year history!!!

The 11U-Select team took a 6-3 lead going into the top of the last inning against the Utah Tribe. The Utah team scored 2 runs and had the bases loaded with one out, when the Utah batter crushed a line drive headed to the gap. The Utah Tribe player then tagged up, but was thrown out at home for the final out and the Championship Victory!!!

A week after the 12U-Elite's great run in week 9 of the Cooperstown Tournament finishing 3rd out of 48 teams (a record finish for LA Xtreme in Cooperstown), the 12U-Select went on an amazing run of its own, making it all the way to the Championship Game. The Select team had gone 4-2 in Pool Play and was seeded 13th for Playoffs. After a rain delayed their first playoff game until midnight. Xtreme was able to hold off the Cortland Nationals New York Team 10-2. Later that day, the team then shocked the #4 Seeded undefeated Saddleback Cowboys 10-6 to advance to the Quarterfinals against San Francisco All-Stars. Down 9-7 with 2 outs in the top of the 6th and 2 on and 2 strikes, Ramon Hernandez smacked a 3-run Home Run to give Select a 10-9 lead. Aiden Aguilar then held the San Francisco team in the bottom of the 6th, advancing the team into the Semi-Finals. In the Semi Finals, the Xtreme team put on a hitting show, scoring 15 runs in 4 innings and a 15-3 mercy win over the Windsor California Academy team, propelling the team into Xtreme's first ever Cooperstown Championship Game. ~ Nov. 29-30 : 12U-Select Captures its 1st USSSA Tournament Trophy
The 12U Select team has been somewhat snake bitten on Sunday's all year. After capturing many trophies the prior year, the 12U Select advanced a Division from Double AA to Triple AAA this fall season. The team was more than holding its own in Triple AAA tournaments and would do very well on Saturday in its tournaments. But on Sunday, they'd make the Semi-Finals of the Gold Bracket only to lose by 1 run in 4 consecutive tournaments. Finally the 12U Select broke through in the Thanksgiving USSSA Tournaments on Sunday by defeating the So. Cal Halos 10-4 and then 7-1 over the Yard Dogs to advance to the Championship Game. The 12U-Select ran out of steam as they played at 8am, 2pm and the Championship Game at 6pm, where they lost to the #1 Seeded and Undefeated IHN Warriors. Still the Championship Finalists Trophy was a nice breakthrough for the 12U Select team and finally getting that Sunday monkey off their back. Congrats to the 12U-Select Team!

Over $3000.00 in Xtreme's Player Sponsorship & Cooperstown Donations!

LA Xtreme now provides scholarships to a little over 20 families who couldn't afford to play competitive travel baseball otherwise. This equates to over $30,000.00 per year. Xtreme is able to cover half, but needs donations to continue to help families who need the financial assistance. In addition, Xtreme sends its 12U Travel Tournament Teams to the Big Cooperstown Tournament each year. Without donations, the costs for Cooperstown would be too great for most to attend.

Therefore, Xtreme a 510(c)(3) Non-Profit has started a New Player Sponsorship & Cooperstown Donation. In the first day, over $3000.00 was raised to help continue Xtreme giving player scholarships and for the 3 Xtreme teams going to Cooperstown in the Summer of 2016. Click Here to Donate and Help. Your donation is a tax deductible and Xtreme will recognize your name or company if you so choose. Thank you!

Then on Friday, the team stayed hot, winning both games once again with an 18-0 mercy win over the Hawaii Rising Sons & a 4-0 victory over the Santa Clarita Wongs. The 4-0 record along with giving up only 4 runs in 4 games, qualified the 10U-Elite team in the Top Playoff Bracket of 6 teams, with the #1 Seed. On Saturday, the 10U-Elite went extra innings against the tough Team Victory team, with Ryan Times knocking in the walk-off in the bottom of the 7th. ~ ALL 4 Xtreme Teams Make Championship Game
Xtreme has had an incredible amount of success since it started travel ball teams 18 months ago. But this past weekend was the most successful weekend the Xtreme has ever experienced. 4 Xtreme teams entered tournaments and all 4 made the Championship Game, with 3 of them winning the tournament.
  • 11U Elite Wins Arizona Major's Tournament: After going 2-0 in Pool Play, the team won its first two Playoff Games to advance to the Championship vs the #1 Seeded Arizona Grinders. Down 2-0 going into the Top of the 6th, Matthew Ramirez bombed a double to score 2 and tie up the game. The Grinders loaded the bases in the bottom of the 6th, but Xtreme got a ground ball force out to end the threat and send the game into extra innings. In the 7th Connor Smith lined a double to score Christian Recendez to put the team up 3-2. In the bottom of the 7th, the Grinders got a runner to 3rd and with 2-outs, Xtreme pitcher Deon Dizon got the Grinders batter to pop up to Lloyd Sapanza at 1B to give the 11U-Elite team the Arizona Championship and the beautiful USSSA Championship Rings!
  • 11U Select Wins USSSA Riverside on Suicide Squeeze : 11U Select played Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde in Pool Play on Saturday after beating themselves in game 1 vs the Rampage, but then coming back and winning 19-0 in game 2 vs the Rockets. In Sunday's Playoffs, the Xtreme would get its revenge on the Rampage with a 12-4 mercy win. In the Championship Game, Xtreme was down 5-4 going into the bottom of the 6th, but a key hit by Jaylen Brewer tied the game 5-5. With Jaylen on 3rd, Coach Mike called for a suicide squeeze, that Robbie Harris executed to perfection allowing Jaylen to score the winning run and send the kids into a frenzy. The Xtreme boys went into a 2nd frenzy after learning they were receiving Championship Rings for their tournament victory.
  • 10U Select Wins USSSA Huntington Beach Tournament : Due to vacations, injuries, timing conflicts, etc, the 10U Select team entered its tournament with 3 kids who had never played or even practiced with the Xtreme. The team looked like a new team losing their first game on Saturday to the Los Alimitos Combats, 11-6. 10U Select therefore had to win its second game vs one of the top teams in the tournament (Team California) to make the Gold Bracket Championship. The team behind the pitching and hitting of Evan Smith beat Team California 5-4, allowing them to sneak into the 4th and final spot of the Gold Bracket. On Sunday, Xtreme played the #1 Seed So. Cal Gamecocks and in a back and forth game that went 9 innings, Xtreme broke it open in the top of the 9th, winning 11-8. In the Championship Game, the 10U Select got its revenge on the Combats and won 11-8, with Owen Gott coming in striking out the last batter with the tying run on 1st and the Winning Run at the plate and giving the 10U Select team their Championship Rings.

11U Elite, 11U Select & 10U Select All Win Championship Rings

  • 9U Makes it 4 for 4 March 28-29 Weekend, Making the Championship Game : The 9U Xtreme team topped off an incredible weekend for Xtreme teams, after they made their Championship Game in the TBL California 1-Day Tournament. The 9U team got into the Championship Game with a couple of dramatic late comebacks. In the Championship Game the 9U ran up against a tough Irvine Elite Major's team. The Runner up still gave the Xtreme a 4th trophy in 4 tournaments.

~ 11U-Elite Team Plays Up & Wins 12U USSSA Tournament
The 11U-Elite team is on quite a roll. Two weeks ago, the 11U Elite team became the 1st Xtreme Team to win an AAU Tournament. Now the 11U-Elite team accomplished another 1st for the Xtreme winning the 12U USSSA Gold Bracket Championship this past weekend. This was the first time the 11U team had entered an older division. In Pool Play on Saturday the 11U's lost their first game 3-2 in the bottom of the 6th. However, they bounced back with a big 8-7 win in their 2nd game, which was good enough for the 3rd Seed in the Gold Bracket. Then on Sunday, Lloyd Sapanza pitched a masterful game, shutting out the #2 Seed 12U So. Cal Hawgs, who are ranked #11 in USSSA So. California AA Division. In the Championship Game the 11U-Elite mercied the undefeated #1 seeded California Aces 16-6, who are also a highly ranked 12U team (#15 in 12U USSSA AA Power Rankings).

~ LA Xtreme 12U Cooperstown is seeking for Donations

There are 2 big tournaments for 12U year old ball players. The Little League World Series in Williamsport and the Cooperstown Tournament in New York. Those fortunate to make the World Series get their travel expenses reimbursed by Little League. Those fortunate to go to the Cooperstown Tournament need to do some serious fundraising in order to off-set their big travel expenses. The costs can be upwards of $2500/kid to go to Cooperstown and without donations, it would be impossible for most families to send their kid to this once in a lifetime event. The team now has a  Cooperstown Donations Page that is accepting donations (either anonymously or publicly). Whether it is $1, $5, $20, $50, $100 or more all donations are greatly appreciated.

~ LA Xtreme 11U Elite Wins AAU Tournament
Since the LA Xtreme started up last year the travel teams have won an incredible amount of USSSA, Xtreme Diamond Sports, Hardcore and other Tournament Championships. LA Xtreme had yet to win an AAU Tournament...until this past weekend. The 11U Elite team went 1-1 on Saturday with a tough 6-5 loss in its first-game to the California Lumberjacks and then a 12-0 Mercy Win over the So. Bay Surf in its 2nd game. On Sunday, the team mercied the Rockstars 10-0 in 4 innings in its 1st game to advance to the Championship, where they met the California Lumberjacks once again. This time, it was the Xtreme kids who came out on top with a 5-2 win and the Xtreme's first AAU Tournament Championship. Congratulations to the 11U-Elite team as they now prepare for their next two tough tournaments, playing up in a 12U Tournament in mid-March and then to the USSSA Major's Division Tournament in Arizona at the end of March.

~ 10U-Elite Dominates Vegas President's Day Tournament
LA Xtreme teams have always done well in the big Las Vegas Tournaments, however, no Xtreme team has ever done what the 10U-Elite team did in the big President's Day Triple AAA Tournament last weekend. The 10U Elite team started Saturday with two 4 inning mercy wins over the Arizona Scorpions and Las Vegas Elite Grey teams (9-1, 14-3). On Sunday it once again won both its games with 4 inning mercy wins with a 9-1 win over a good Las Vegas Wolfpack team and then a 24-1 win over the Henderson Hustlers. The 4-0 record qualified the 10U-Elite team for Monday's Playoffs and the #1 Seed where the team once again won both games with a 4 inning mercy win, including a 9-1 win in the Championship Game. Six games in the Vegas Tournament with all six games resulting in a 4-inning mercy victory. Congratulations to the 10U Elite team on a feat that will probably never be duplicated again.

~ 12U-Elite Finalists in USSSA Major's President's Day Tournament
The 12U-Elite team did what it does best. Makes the Championship Game. The 12U Elite team faced some of the Elite teams in the Upper Level Bracket in Monday's Playoffs, but were able to beat a tough IHN Warriors 9-1 and the #1 Seed Arizona Dust Devils, 7-3 to get the team into the Championship. This gives the team an uncanny 19 Championship Games in 23 USSSA & XDS Tournaments. The team played a tough Cal Select team in the Championship Game but came up short 9-14. Still a very impressive outing once again for the 12U Elite team.

Even if none of the Xtreme teams were to win another tournament the rest of the year, 8 Tournament Trophies would still be an incredibly successful season. Deon Dizon, Nick Smulovitz, Connor Smith and Ryan Times also had key hits in that game to bring the team back. Lloyd Sapanza pitched out of a jam in the bottom of the 6th with the winning run on the 3rd and nobody out. The 10's finished its first day together without a loss earning them a 4 seed in Sunday's playoffs. Unfortunately, they drew Beach Baseball in the first playoff game and this time Beach got the best of the 10U team and knocked them out of the tournament. It was still a great showing going 1-1-1 in their first tournament, including a big win over a Triple AAA team in their very first game.

12U Travel Team Tournament Summary : Unlike the 10U team that got a big win in their first game, the Xtreme 12's got mercied 10-2 by the HB Toros. The next game however the team turned it around and beat the HB Bombers 5-4, who had just destroyed their previous opponent 12-0. The team was led by the pitching of two 11-year olds Allen Blackwell and Jonah Storey. The defense was solid all game long with Wyatt Nelson making the defensive play of the tournament in Centerfield tracking down a ball in full sprint over his left shoulder. Another 11-year old Jake Wall crushed the Bombers pitching, while Max Aguirre started heating up his bat.

Sunday Playoff Game (#1) : Sunday's playoffs the 12's were seeded against their first opponent, the HB Toros, but now that the team was getting accustomed to playing together, they put on a show both on offense and defense. Starting pitcher Vincent Temesvary shut the door on the Toros, giving up only 1 run in 4 innings, while Vincent's bat was on fire going 4-4 with 2 home runs. Adrian Weinburg crushed the ball all day long and nearly hit for the cycle, while Scotty Melton collected 3 solid hits of his own, played a great catcher, all while battling a cold. Wyatt Nelson and Jaylin Collins made every defensive play at SS and 2B, while Irving Norwood roamed Centerfield and didn't let anything drop. Max Aguirre's big bat was alive once again while Allen Blackwell and Jonah Storey added key hits to the 12-1 revenge beating of the HB Toros.

Sunday Semi-Finals Game (#2) : In the team's next Playoff game, they faced the veteran Triple AAA Prospects team, who had been rolling over its opponents all tournament. The Prospects starting pitcher was the top pitcher in the tournament and kept the Xtreme bats in check all game long. Xtreme's Colin Wong pitched just as good and gave the team a solid 4 innings, only giving up 2 runs to the Prospects. Max Aguirre came in to pitch in the 5th and also held the Prospects bats in check giving up only 1 run. Yet with a 3-1 deficit in the top of the 6th, the Xtreme finally got to the Prospects starting pitcher. With the bases loaded and one out, Jaylin Collins nailed a shot over the right fielders head, clearing the bases. Jaylin was thrown out in a bang-bang play at home, but the 3 runs gave the Xtreme a 4-3 lead. Unfortunately, the Prospects were able to muster a run in the bottom of the 6th to tie the game and send it into extra innings. In the 7th, Max was able to stop the Prospects from scoring despite them having the bases loaded and only 1 out. Max was also helped by Irving Norwoods throw from CF stopping the winning run from scoring. The Xtreme couldn't however score in the top of the 8th and in the bottom of the 8th, the Prospects got a run and won one of the most exciting games many of the parents and coaches have ever been apart of. Despite the loss, the Xtreme 12's did phenomenal considering that this was their first tournament and nearly half their team consisted of 11-year olds as four of their top 12 year-olds were sick or unavailable. An absolutely amazing performance from the team as the kids and families really started creating a great bond together, which is what the Xtreme and baseball is all about!!!
